To all my fellow Ardennites, our ambitious plan during this summer’s 25th, class of ’83 reunion, in addition to having a good time, is to present Ardenne with a JA $1,000,000+ cheque toward the completion of a state-of-the-art science building now under construction.

The building is named The Winston Roberts Science Centre, in recognition of the late Mr. Roberts who taught Biology and Zoology to many generations at Ardenne and served as Vice-Principal. Mr. Roberts skills as a teacher, great communicator and his dedication to science education, were second to none. He was highly respected among students, teachers and parents alike, and we are lucky to have had him at Ardenne.

The Class of '83 are extremely proud and honoured to be a part of Mr. Roberts' legacy, and toward this end we have embarked on an ambitious venture to raise JA $1,000,000 by selling commemorative T-shirts which are available now for sale for only JA $1,500/ US $20 each (plus shipping). The Winston Roberts Science Centre Building Fund will also be the recipient of all proceeds from the All-Inclusive Party on Saturday. In addition, National Commercial Bank (NCB) will match funds we raise, dollar for dollar, and that my friends is a most excellent thing!!!

The T-shirt design is original and unique, and is made from 100% high quality cotton, and well worth the small JA $1,500/ US $20 asking price.Past students, present students, friends, family, neighbours and even enemies are encouraged to purchase commemorative T-shirts in each 4 available colours - blue, gold, black and white. This is truly a worthwhile benefit, and what better investment is there, than to invest in Education…our future…our children…our Jamaica.

Again, think about buying two or more and even selling a batch.

Ardenne has done a lot for us. We are who we are in a big way because of Ardenne. We met lifelong friends, got a first class education and were motivated by some of the best teachers in the world.

To paraphrase from Luke 12:48, we must remember, “To Whom Much is
Given, Much is Expected.”

Just like the T-shirts, all proceeds from the All-Inclusive Party on Saturday will go towards the building fund. As you can tell from the pictures which were recently emailed to me by an Ardenne teacher, and currently posted on the website, due to lack of funds, the building is at a standstill and needs lots of money to complete.
