The Ardenne High School family is excited at the proposed reunion of the Class of 1983. We appreciate your willingness to support your alma mater in the building of our much needed science block. If you visit Ardenne you will realize that we have essentially the same number of science labs. as we did when you were in school. The school, however, is now on one shift with over 1950 students.
    
It is for this reason that we have embarked upon building a state of the art Science Block to facilitate the increasing demand for science education by our students at the CXC-CSEC and CAPE Levels. Ground was broken for the building on May 1, 2007. We actually began building in September 2007.

The Science Block will comprise the following:

• Phase I – One Lab with Prep. Room and a Staff Room
• Phase 11- Two Labs and Multi-Purpose Room
• Phase 111- Lecture Theatre

We are almost at the end of Phase One. Phase Two should begin in July of this year. We have raised approximately Five Million Jamaican Dollars so far which has been matched by NCB.  Of that we have already disbursed Five Million Jamaican Dollars to the contractor. We need to raise at least another Twenty Million Jamaican Dollars. This means that Ardenne needs to raise Ten Million Dollars to be matched by National Commercial Bank. This matching offer will cease at the end of 2009. We envision that the building should be completed to be in use by the latest September 2010. I am therefore asking you make every effort possible to assist us in raising these needed funds. I look forward to the completion of the Science Block with the certain knowledge that you will have played a significant role in bringing this vision to reality.
